Friend put down 330 today
My friend Juan put down 330 on his LSVTEC del sol today. Would have made more power but he had to pull out of it at 6200 because he blew his headgasket, which really sucks. HE is looking for over 400whp soon. Oh, and he is running 440cc injectors I believe.

yeah, i dont think 440's will cut the mustard for trying to pound out 400whp, he might want to think about getting something a little bigger, what fuel pump and boost is he running?

Ok, so I was wrong on the injector size. He is running 370's because a local shop told him it would be too hard to tune the 550's. Second he is running an LS/VTEC with JE pistons, Crower rods, and Darton sleeves. Third, it is a .57 trim t04e.

LOL...well his injectors are maxed out then and he probably ran lean and poped the head gasket. He needs at least 550's

yup, Juans a/f ratio looked horrible. he posted his dyno at HV. good power, but that motor is more than headed for detonation w/ an a/f ratio that he has.

Yah def needs bigger injectors...though I have seen 440ccs at a little over 400hp. that was def pushing it and fuel pressure was crazy high. But def if need more than 370cc

Re: Friend put down 330 today (0x64)
wow eric...way to post my junk dyno chart But yeah...my a/f was fizucked...I basically did that dyno run on my own to show the shop that they were completely off base when telling me the 370's would cut it. I originally argued about putting in 550's and hes like no thats too hard to tune....My HG was going bad as it was, and the shop didnt believe that either. I pointed out EVERYTHING that was wrong, and hes like "oh no its fine".....Hence the reason I no longer give that shop any business. Im ordering a cometic headgasket this week and new ARP studs, and Im still undecided on injectors. Im only running the greddy e-manage at the moment, so 550's would be the max I think on what I could run with that. Ill end up going AEM later probably...can I get the award for worst a/f ever? Part of the reason it shot way up at the end was because i let off the accelerator starting around 5900rpm....either way, real sketchy. It was done on 1.3 bar and I was leaking boost heavily . Im hoping to get 300+ hp on about 1 bar with everything sealed up and tuned correctly...then shoot for over 400 on race gas. Up till where I let off we couldnt really hear any knocking but we did have the timing pulled back a bunch at the higher rpms to be safe.
As for tuning...I talked to the guy from the "370CC's are enough" shop on saturday, and he was just like "Uhh well 550's will be harsh at idle and its too difficult for a street car." Needless to say, I've found a different shop thats gonna help me tune and it least he seems like he knows what hes doing...so far.

Man, i cringed when I saw that A/F ratio. That shop i lame as hell. It may take some time to tune it with hacks, but with a stand alone, it would be cake.

Re: Friend put down 330 today (eg2turbo)
yeah you need larger injectors. I ran out of 720s at 508whp so if you figure out the flow of his 370s and hp and compare it you can see he is running out.

thanks...Im gonna throw in some 550's, up the fuel pressure a bit, put in new ARP studs and a cometic headgasket...I've already got a different tuner...hopefully all goes well.
