Default Re: Forced Induction on an auto (ninesecrx)

If you can keep the auto trans from breaking....all the 5spd shifters cant out shift you. I dont care how quick everyone claims to be able to shift. You cant out shift a automatic.
i did my turbo ls swap into my hatch just to prove this point. on the stock block and only 6 psi i was running 8.6 in the 1/8th at 84mph. this time was hit just about on every run. the slips were too consistent. yeah i ended up having it break on me after two months. then...i did the manual conversion because all the people telling me how much faster i would be? BULLSHEET!!! all other things equal besides the tranny, i was only able to pull an 8.7 as the lowest. the mph was the same at 84ish. "the manual was no, i repeat, no damn faster or quicker". god, if i could have a auto that would hold 400 horsepower, it would be on. oh i can drive too by the way. the auto 60's were 2.2 on street tires. my launches with the 5 speed and the bfg's are at 2.0. but still...the manual is no faster. i like both auto and 5 speed.
