Greddy blue box all day long over the FMU.
I'm running mine at 9 psi, stock pump/injectors, 2 degree timing retard.
I wouldn't recommend running that much boost, but around 7-8 psi on stock components is fine.

Well if you're going OBD-I, go Uberdata.
You'll already have the P28.

obd 1 > obd 0
might as well convert, drive-ability, throttle response, etc, etc, will go up compared to the older obd 0 setup
I always try to recommend the blue box to the 96-00 crowd just because it's so painfree compared to the other options for this year range.
but for joo, I say swap over to obd 1 and run uberdata

screw going through the trouble of converting to obd1. Turbo edit is getting more and more better as time goes on. Before you convert to obd1 give Turbo edit a try. Definintly don't waste your time and money converting to obd1 just to run the blue box
