FMU Vortech
no you dont. but im my recent experiences FMU's are horrible, most of the ppl i talk to have either severly damaged they're engine or blew it up(like me). your better off to send your ecu to someone and have them put uberdata on it with a base map.

not always true, INLINE Pro from Norther Virginia used to prefer using just an fmu and vafc/afc. They have had many 400hp+ cars using this exact setup. Just get it dynoed tuned to make sure your a/f is not running to lean.

i am boosting 9psi daily on a D17 with a vortech 10:1 for awhile now. So far so good, i check my plugs quite often.
The only problem is, the pumps are loud and they tend to fail cuz they still run when not in boost. You can fix this by installing a pressure switch in the charge pipe or a cheaper way is a toggle switch to turn the pump on. Kinda annoying, but is cheaper.

if u dont have money to getting a program for tuning purposes, then i suggest going with the vortech super fmu. it is fully adjustable. this you have more control over home the fuel pressure goes up.

i have one question.... if i have a FMU Vortech do i need a fuel pressure regulator for turbo setup???
Thanks...</TD></TR></TABLE>
FMU's are great setups for lower boost levels (about 11 and below). ask NSXmat how he likes his (over a year of boosting 10psi and several 11 second time slips)

VERY true, stan was telling me all about his setup in his GSR hatch back in the day. they used it on all the setups pretty much.

Uberdata ran me $50 for my car. How much are FMU's. I'd just feel safer with an EMS such as Uberdata or Hondata.

the uberdata will adjust fuel in the actual mapping of the chip burned for your car..it's computerized instead of mechanical like the fmu...

yes but im sure they also dyno tuned it where as sportinemotions did not, was using a 12:1 disc, and small injectors.
