fmu, afc, or chipped ecu?
ok heres my story short.... i bought a 1995 honda civic ex , i bought it with the g15 greddy turbo kit w/ intercooler missing link and vortech FMU ( you know the Blue round one ) also have lude injectors and a AEM fuel rail also a 255 fuel pump. im not sure how to tune or if possable to tune this FMU, some told me to switch to a vafc and some said to chip my ecu.. what should i do? thanks for your responses
the afc and fmu are old technology. they were ok when they were the only options.
but now with all the ems' out there it is pointless to not go with a chipped ecu, or some form of ems.

is there a like Do it your self guide to chipping anyway to have it dataloging for my laptop? also would this mean to take off the Vortech FMU?
Thanks for your time in this matter

with a chipped ecu, you run bigger injectors not needing the fmu anymore. i dont feel confident chipping an ecu, you need a desoldering tool and a few other things and if it isnt perfect, you are in for a world of hurt.
i have been soldering for like 5 years i have good equ and exp. but where is a good place to look up what i need and how to do it? anyone knows?

the initial cost of an FMU is non expensive.. but you increase your chances of having to replace a motor. Sell the FMU and you can get pretty far with "crome".
especially if you can chip it yourself! I have very little soldering experience and was able to pull it off. FMUs are a thing of the past, especially with Hondas.
After you do some reading on pgmfi.org you'll laugh at yourself for thinking of going with an FMU.

Get rid of the FMU thats the last thing you want. The best is the ECU but you can get good results from the AFC. The FMU will give you some insane fuel pressure that the pump will not like!
