Flywheel Thoughts
I am in a small decesion spot and dunno the best choice...
I am in the middle of a rebuild of my b18c and I expect around 400whp daily driven. Daily driven meaning that it WILL be driven everyday (pretty much). I want something that will have longevity along with drivability... I will be using a Clutchmasters Stave IV clutch, and thought about the 7lb flywheel...
The issue I have is that it might be to quick to rev high and be a little harder to smoothly engauge. I then thought about a lightened and balanced stock flywheel, like maybe going to 12lbs... Would this still be strong enough to hold that kind of power while daily driven?
Thoughts? Constructive Critisizims? Suggestions?

I have the CM flywheel in my 300whp hybrid. I'm thinking about going back with the stock flywheel. At the track on 22-8-15 slicks I have to ride the clutch to get a decent launch without bogging.

The rules make no indication of having an after market flywheel.

I think it's a conspiracy from the flywheel manufacturers who sponsor NIRA to force people to use aftermarket flywheels!
If in the event of a blown up flywheel, wouldn't the scattershield be able to contain the debris within the bell housing? Or what's the point behind the safety precaution of running strictly aftermarket flywheels in cars that fast?

What can I say, gotta be quick...earn your keep.
I know, I think its dumb too. Why have a scatter sheild if the companies are claiming to make these awesome flywheels that dont explode. And if the sheilds gonna work, then why make us run a flywheel????

Stay with the stock flywheel. CM flywheel is no good, it will break on you!! Jun flywheel needs to be modified or else you will have a hard time starting the car becuase the teeth wont catch.
OT- I got a clutch master flywheel for sale. 200 bucks! Used for only 500 miles. I went back to stock flywheel.
