Stock is the best ,it holds up the best ,and balances the crank the best. It gives you more consistent launches. Lightweight is not bad but stock is the best just get it resurfaced to stock specs, throw in a good clutch and you are good to go.

Autos use a flexplate and torque converter, so I don't think any of the aftermarket lightweight flywheels are going to work for you.

You probably just want to go OEM.. from what I've heard they work the best for boost applications

but the thing is that every car from factory comes with an OEM flywheel that its balanced to that motor and only that one.... So if i get for example another ls flywheel it will be more unbalanced that if i buy an after market flywheel that its balanced to fit any application

You don't want too light of a flywheel with boost.. I've seen lots of guys with great results anywhere from 9-12 lbs, but any less is risky IMO.

Look at it this way a lite flywheel will rev up and down faster the heavy flywheel will rev up and down slower but will have the extra rotating mass to assist your launch

I run an ITR flywheel OEM quality slightly lighter

I have a friend with the 7lbs exedy flywheel and I have the street version of the competition clutch I think it is 10-11 lbs. I do not feel much difference with either. Stock is pretty heavy and I felt a difference then. I got the exedy that my friend has for like 140, and mine was about the same. The clutch is where the difference is at. I felt a pretty noticeable difference between the CM stage 4 and the Competition Clutch stage 4. The CM is way harsher but it grabs like a mother. If I had a stock Flywheel I would just keep it though and have it balanced and spend the money on the clutch.

use the search
this has ben debated thousands of times
my opinion is...
i love my light fly (10lb fadanza)
the response is great
and the RPM's do drop but not to the point to the car cutting out.
rev matching is also easier

Since when do flywheels balance the crank?..Thats what the oem crank pulley is for....Get one as light as you want..only thing is it takes a little while to get used to it, and you have to shift faster due to revs dropping faster since the flywheel is lighter.Id say either the fidanza or the exedy would be fine for ur app.

True. Both could work, but I've had several problems with aluminum flywheels with the OEM starter teeth. In which it does create difficult start difficulty because of the different metals. I would use a resurfaced OEM, or an Exedy flywheel.

does anyone here even HAVE a light flywheel? I hate ppl that dont have 1 and make inputs.

I just put an ACT streetlite 11.5. It runs great. I see no difference in handling, some ppl say it takes effort to get use to getting out the hole and i see no difference.

Revs dont drop faster than before. THey drop normally. You have to be granny shifting to see a fast drop.

Acceleration is great. I can feel a difference in light throttle accel. Also picks up a lot better at WOT.

Id recoomend getting it if u can for cheap.

My buddy has the exedy flywheel, he says the response on the car is amazing.. i can vouch for that. However he's not boosted... I'm currently using an OEM R flywheel and its great.. obv heavier than the other ones.. but not a bad bet.

Otherwise just go with the exedy.
