Fluidyne or C&R radiator?
How does the C&R radiator compare with Fluidyne? I know the Fluidyne comes with one 11" fan so do you buy another one to have two? Or is one enough. The C&R radiator comes with one 14" fan with the bracket welded on the radiator. I am wondering if one is enough or I should have the bracket removed and welded again so I can put another smaller fan on there. This is for a 5th gen Prelude by the way.
Ok good C&R it is then. But about having one 14" fan. Is that enough? I can easily have another put on there. But if it's not necessary I guess I won't spend the extra $100. For a 97 turbo Prelude.
the PWR special rightn ow is also a good choice. I think the C&R is better than the fludyne in my opinion..
I have the Fluidyne and I would never change it for anything. The fit is perfect and performance is great. Since I put it on my 9.5lb SC GSR the temp has never gone over half. I highly recommend the Fluidyne.

I can tell you that the fluidyne is not as good quality as the PWR or C&R. What these 2 brands have is a double core where as fluidyne has only a single. This means it does not have a thin metal layer in the middle. This helps with strength and against ballooning if you did blow a head gasket. Also, I am not sure on the C&R stuff, but I know PWR has 18 fins per cublic inch. where as Fluidyne only has 16. Im not trying to sell you on anything...just stating the facts. Also, Im sure that one fan should do the trick.....Mike
Thanks for the info MIke. I called up C&R as well and the tech said the one 13" fan flows more air than the two stock fans. I guess I'll put it in.
I've been rolling on a C&R in my GSR for 8 months w/o any problems. I had to trim one of the fan brackets so the turbine wouldn't hit it! I live on a tropical island and my cars a hell of a lot cooler than before.
C&R hands down, it is more expensive, but it comes with a really nice fan. I think the fan flows about 1000 cfm and only draws about 7.5 amps. The endtanks are really nice and will not balloon when or if you blow a head gasket at high boost. By the way the factory fan blows about 350 cfm. Don't by the fluidyne unless you don't mind being 2nd best.

Okay to all of you who said that your engine temp needle doesn't go past the middle point? How about on 90 degree humid days when you HAVE to have that AC running strong, and your sitting in rush hour traffic?
I have a stock radiator now, and when I get stuck in these situations, I always have to turn my AC off and turn the heat on full blast just to let out the heat from the motor to cool it down. And with my turbo that's being installed this Friday, I'm worried that its only going to make it worse now.
