turns out it was the number 14 alternator valve soleniod fuse.

walrbro 255 installed today, first test drive with the fuel pump the fuse blew.... i seriously thought i blew my engine sooo scared. i was in third gear at 3/4 wot and the engine went POP. and the rpms died, car stayed on. changed fuse, ran it home..
i was told change the 15 for a 20 and ill be ok? is this smart? and why did it blow with this dang walbro pump? any one? it scared the **** outta me. thanks guys.

haha.. that woulda scared my *** too... but i have bursted fuel lines before while driving.... 
I think you should be fine with a 20amp fuse. It popped the 15 because a Walbro 255 pulls more current than the stock one.

that's odd.. never had this happen to me b4.. i've run 2 seperate walbro pumps in 2 seperate cars... must be an isolated incident...

no ive heard of this happening a couple of times here on HT, one thread was recommending to replace the fuse.........

Yeah Id check your connections at the pump. Might have a bad ground

beat u both first time driving exploded the fuel line then fixed it then took it again and blew that fuse. thought i blew the motor. took me an hour to find the dahm fuse

yeah.. well the car runs great now, i think that one fuse was just old. so now it runs fine. i just cant figure out why the #14 fuse would cause my cd player to take a ****? thanks guys.
Haha, I had the SAME problem a year ago on a FMU. I was in full boost getting onto the freeway when it just died. I thought it was done for. After raising my car up on the side of the freeway because it was too low to tow, I finally got it home and found that damn fuse. It was a day after I installed the pump too.
I made a post about this when it happened, and it's happened to a couple other people too. They install a walbro pump, it blows that exact fuse, replaced it with same rating, and never had another problem. So you're not alone. Now I just carry about 3 extras
