Default finished intercooler piping

Just thought i would share some of my handy work. A bunch of people were asking how i was going to do the piping. The piping is currently held together with 100mph tape, im taking it down to a friends to get it welded together this week.

Turbo to intercooler pipe. Its not as long as it looks.




Used to be a weapon-R intake, now its a liam-R.

Im pretty happy with how everything turned out. Im a little worreied about the piping just off the turbo. It comes very close to the header, maybe 1/4 of an inch. Theres just not alot of room between the header and the clutch slave. And i still need to redo the radiator lines. Still alot of work left.

what kind of manifold is that? very unique setup...

It was custom made by a company in Washington called EGR (exhaust gas research) something like that. Anyways they are out of business now. Its a one of a kind piece, i have a matching intake manifold to go with it. Just havent gotten around to installing it yet. Need to reflange it for my throttle body.

Yeah the mani looks similar to the sidewinder and the heat will be hella hot. Hood will turn black.

i dont like that manifold a lot
takes too much space
and will HEAT SOAK under ur hood....

i rather have a conventional tubular one...

looks nice tho, and i bet it performs good.....
but is one i wouldnt own

Powdercoat the piping...That should be about $50-$60 and Thermal Coat the Manifold...That should be about $150...Nice setup, I will look into a Turbine Blanket to keep the heat away from your charge pipe...

Those pipes look incredible... almost like bent piping, not welded. Nice grind job.

There isnt any duck tape on the FMIC. There is cardboard on the front so it doesnt get damaged.

Just curious why you went with the sidewinder style mani. I would think you would use that style for one of two reasons..to rock an Air/Water (like the Hytech setup) or to keep space for P/S etc..

not flaming, just curious.

To tell you the truth, i got a really good deal on it. Its different, not very many people have anything like it (at least where the turbo is upside down), and its pretty. If i was to go out and buy a manifold, id most likely get a lovefab sst or full-race. But i couldnt pass up the deal.

Anyways...how many dohc ZC with a manifold like that do you see? As far as i know im the only one in the world.

Looks good liam, I still wish I was able to use that manifold before I sold it I'm thinking about making another similar to that one btw, it was ESR Exhaust Specialities Racecraft.

Can't wait to see the pics with the Intake mani!

looks really nice, but personally i wouldn't go through the hassle of using that manifold unless i was trying to keep ac.
