Default fine 2 start car without downpipe?

just wondering if its fine to start the car without downpipe? im waitin on my v-band flanges from full race and wanted to start the car and see if its throwin any checks or has any leaks so that when i get my flanges i can just put the dp on and drive...

uhhhh starting it for a short period of time just to check codes might be alright, but driving it would be a definite bad!!!!!

it wouldnt be that bad to drive, but its definetly ok to idle.

You'd just want to watch the AFR's. At idle (zero load) you can get away with it being fairly lean, which is what it will be untuned with very little backpressure. Driving lightly is iffy, you'll have a very hot engine bay in no time. Its mainly the heat you'd want to watch - even at idle, its firing +500F gases out the turbine, enough to melt any plastic, rubber, pvc (wire insulation), and most paints that get in the way.
