The oil dipstick makes a straight shot down into the oil pan. If the dipstick is dry, the pan needs oil. There's no way around that.

i know that, and i put in two quarts and its still bone dry, but how could i have perfect oil pressure, my vtec engage, and no motor problems if my dipstick is completely dry??

i know for a fact i have no oil leaks either

is it possible that the end of your dipstick broke off? i know it's a dumb question, but check it out. you have to check out all the posiblitys. p.s. meby the dipstick tube pulled out of it's hole and is just hanging on.

do a oil change
and fill it up with 4qts see if it shows up on the dipstick
if it doesnt you probably have the wrong stick for the motor

It baffles the mind. Probably something with your stick. Do you have the stock oil pan, or an aftermarket one?

Stock or aftermarket shouldn't matter

Just drain the oil, put in however much is reccomended. I dont know what motor you have but its like 4.3qts for a B-series or 4 for D-series, and if it still doesnt show up you must have the wrong dipstick????

What program are you using for tuning?
It is possible that you disabled the vtec oil pressure switch - meaning it'll come on no matter what the oil pressure is. Just a possibility.

i know i have the right dipstick, because it's read perfect untill now, belive me im not that stupid

no i didnt blow the stick or the tube out with any blow by, everything is normal

im useing hondata S200 for tuneing

and dsm's dont blow the dipstick, i had a 400HP dsm and never had a single problem with the dipstick

and i also know for a fact that the oil pressure switch is not disabled because it's cut out on me before when i was low on oil

DO AN OIL CHANGE, and see how much oil comes out, and then fill it up with 4 quarts and see if it registers... thats the solution, stop trying to come up with rocket science.

I was thinking that a larger capacity, after-market oil pan might have enough oil for everything to work fine, and still not register on the dip-stick.

If the motor does not have oil pressure It physically can not go into vtec regardless of the pressure switch ...it uses oil pressure to lock the rocker arms.....if theres low pressure it wont be able to lock the rocker arms any wya you put it.......

from the lower to the upper dot on the dip stick should be one crt of oil....the motor holds 4...if it has 2 it will still have oil pressure.....

you have the wrong length dip stick for a different motor or you have a problem...this isnt a very complicated problem

Thanks. Didn't know that.

I think the most logical thing to do is drain the oil.........

you'll give me oil worth ****, i dont put cheap crap in my car

and honestly i dont care if i blow the motor or turbo right now anyway, i got a new motor and turbo on the way, i just wanted to find out what the problem was

yes i drive a boosted car, deal with it, i've been driveing boosted car's ever since my third car

and like i said before, i have the right dipstick so thats not the problem, and i've had my motor cut my vtec before when i was barely over a quart low so obviously i must have good oil pressure

Some aftermarket dipsticks, like str, are difficult to read (oil doesn't show) especially when the oil is new/clean. - - good luck

motor is completely stock beside's turbo, stock dipstick, stock oil pan, stock internals, etc, so the dipstick or pan is not an issue

i know this will sound dumb but make sure your on a flat srface and make sure your engine is turned of because if the engine is running it will read diff.

if you did all this drain the oil, you dont have to replace the oil just drain it check how much you have and then put it back in.
