fi and cam gears

fi and cam gears
I have a drag kit on my b16, and when building this motor, i decided to put a new set of aem cam gears into the mix, so now there their, but do they do anything on a fi setup! I know that there good for tuning out overlap, but i am unsure as to what that is all about, and what affects it has! Is there are general setting like with na motors?
