FASTEST SPOOL ?

Re: FASTEST SPOOL ? (nekoabandoned)
i think it depends mainly on the engine you have... a b16 will make another spool up time then a b18...
by the way... small turbo=fast spool up
big turbo = late spool up...
it's up to find a middle way because a small turbo with less spool is useless if he has no topend...
read something about compressor maps/turbine housings and you will see.... there is no general answer to this question.
Best regards
Malte.

94 del sol si
t3/t4 turbo
everything aem makes
d16z6
broken boost gauge
lifes fun if your neck hurts
what does your t3/t4 spool at and how much power are you making now? if you want something to spool hella quick use a peanut shooter gt28 or something, but low end power breaks tires loose and that doesn't always win a short race

You sound like a ricer to me... Do some research, a 42/48 T3 is the smallest turbo I would go on a D16, otherwise the car will fall on its face above 6K. Read up newb.

charge pipes wont make any diff dude. its just pressure being built in a system. Most applications go from small at the turbo to large at the tb, i dont know the logic around it.
trust me worrying about your charge pipe is the last thing you needs to worry about, a 2.5"-3" main charge pipe is fine, for your ic pipes etc you can either go one size feom the turbo all the way to the tb or slowly increase the size.
I have DRAG pipes so they start at like 1.25" or something at the tubo and end at like 2.75" -3" at the throttle boddy, increasing slowly thourghout the piping. Its weird and i thought it was way too small at first but its great.
Anyway- charge pipes are your last concern. Think about what turbo u want, wastegate, EMS, fuel setup, injectors, CATCH CAN (much more important than most realize), manifold, etc.
In my mind these allll come before any thought of charge pipes.
I use the drag t3/t4 not sure which one exactly- i know its one of the smaller ones. Its ******* awesome, it starts building boost around 3k and i have full boost by like 4.5k and it pulls HARD all the way to 8.8k.
just my .02

Re: (turbotime)
im going to just stick with my t3/t4 for now,i was wondering if i was having bad lag because i was using exhuast piping(not mandrel bend) in and out a ford probe intercooler.there all very sharp bends, and to top it off im running 2'' all the way through the system. so im picking up some charge pipe 2.5" tomarrow and a front mount, will this fix some of the lag?
