I got a question on step 15... i put a spare wire in j1 and just solder it? Why not just desolder it? -thanks

I dont think I understand. You mean if you want to go back to the original ROM? You could either cut that jumper or desolder it in that case.

If you want the s300 to work you have to have a jumper soldered across J1.
