if it is the vortech one, you can buy replacement diaphrams

Yea yea get hondata.....well he doesn't have one so forget about it. Vortech FMUs are shitty. The lower diaphram always breaks and has a little hole right in the center of it. You can buy recalibration kits but thats only the upper diaphram. You can't buy replacement lowers so go out and buy a recalibation kit with the upper diaphram in it and trace it with a pen and cut a smaller one out of it.....ive done it plenty of times and it works great.

reditr,

Your sig says that you have rc440 injectors and you also have an fmu? Do you have a safc or vafc to control the injectors? If you do, you might want to consider running the hack and just ditch the fmu altogether...

I am going to do a diaphram, but the center hole is it manufactured by the maker or is it a rapture. as mine is nearly destroyed so i can t tell what the original was like. Do you have any idea what material it is made of? as i am making my own on diaphram material ?

The diaphragm is fluorosilicone sheet, and the round aluminum foil looking piece is stainless steel shim stock.

Thanks guy for your help but do you now if the diaphram has to have a small hole in it , if it should have one, in which hole it has to be, the one which goes to the return of the tank or the the other hole which goes to the stock fuel regulator ? always we are talking on the small bottom diaphram. And could you please tell me the size of the hole. Because i already built one of my own and the car came too much rich. the pump was always giving an output of 140psi on idle. as it suppose to be around 45psi .

There are 4 holes in the bottom diaphragm for the bolts to go through. There are no other holes.

If you are getting 140 psi of fuel pressure at idle, it means that there is no fuel flowing through the fmu. What material did you use for the new diaphragm? And how thick is it? My guess is it is not flexible enough and does not allow fuel to return to the tank.

The material is a normal diaphragm that can resist petrol which is normally used in a normal fuel carburator, as here in malta we are very short in these type of materials. I know i did a small mistake because the diaphragm that i have used is around 20 thou thicker. Can you please tell me from where i can purchase a recalibration kit or something similar to work with? I appreciate a lot for your good info that you are giving me, Thanks a lot my friend.

Best bet is to buy the original diaphram! I send my fmu back to vortech and they rebuilt it. that cost around 200 us$. i also had a fuel spike of around 80psi. that cause big problems in my fmu. they had to replace seals and the bottom diaphram. make sure if you see those kind of psi turn the car off. then try and connect it backwards.
