i want to run an external wastegate so i can experiment with some diesel truck turbos i am going with a tial most likely but should i get a 35mm or a 40mm?

BTW this is a '90 talon tsi

 

that all depends on how much bost/power you plan on making

I think that on <400 hp systems the 35 mm will be fine, higher output will prolly require the 40.. but if you have to have the flange made anyways, why not just get the bigg one for a couple extra bucks, then ou know it will work...

 

i will be making the mani anyways so i will fab a flange for whichever one i go with

 

which diesel turbos are you going to be experimenting with, do you mean ford/dodge/chevy diesel or Frieghtliner/kennworth/peterbuilt diesel... cause if you have ever seen the turbo off of a big truck (frieghtliner) you will then see that there is no chance on any type of import with less than a 6 litre motor

 

im talking bout pick ups not 18 wheelers lol

 

Need to fab up a compressor seal so it does squirt oil into your engine.

 

just go with a 40mm so you don't have to mess with it.
