Explain this to me!
Lets say you had a t3/t4 turbo and you had a gt3037
the t3/t4 turbo made 220whp at 6 pounds but the gt3037 made 250whp at 6 pounds.....
would someone explain this to me!

Ball bearings have nothing to do with the amount of cfm the turbo pushes out just about how fast it can spool up to push that amount. I'm guessing the gt is just a bigger turbo.

Eventhough the GT3037 is a Hybrid with a T04E compressor it is difficult to compare to a normal T4/T3 since the GT turbo uses an HKS specific exhaust side that is somewhere bewteen a T28 and T3. The GT compressor abd blade also are slightly different so they flow better.
Now if you compare the GT3037 with an AR.82 exhaust housing to a NON-BB 57T T04E/T3 stage III AR.63 you will get about the same results across the board at every boost level. The difference will be spool time since the GT turbo will spool 100~300rpm faster. Even the GT2835R will out perform the smaller T4/T3's up until about 1.3bar.

i was referring the the reduced frictional loss of a ball bearing design vs the 'bushing' design of a garrett style CHRA.
if u had 2 identical turbos (same compressor and turbine specs) and one had a ball bearing CHRA, i bet there would be a slight power advantage to the ball bearing design.
measurable? maybe not
50hp difference? definitely not!
