Default exhaust ventilation

sorry if this has been covered but i wanted to use my downpipe for crankcase venting and i know if i do this it will shoot out white smoke so my question is if i put a catch can in the middle would this stop the oil from being burnt and going out the back or will i still see smoke and i just have to deal with it

It's common sense that if you put a vessel that's properly baffled into the circuit that some, if not most- of the oil will be captured there. Some vapors will still end up in the exhaust, so you'll probably still have some minor smoke issues.
