Default exhaust size HP difference

Searched, but didn't find what I was looking for.

What are some estimates on power differences between 2 1/4", 2 1/2", and a 3" exhaust. Say with a 2 1/2" downpipe. I know all setups are different. I just need some estimates. Because right now I have a 2 1/4" exhaut, but I don't know if its really worth my money now to get a bigger exhaust.

If it matters, my set up is a stock 2000 b16, AEBS I.M., Revhard 2C turbo kit, basically all stock running 6 psi.

There are way too many variables to come up with any kind of estimate for that. Exhaust sizing will also affect spool up. I wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 2.5" pipe for turbo.

i just got my downpipe extended to my 2 1/4inch exhaust. I hate it, it feels so sluggish now.

Yeah you should definately upgrade your exhaust.

the only good thing about it is it's quiet. Maybe a little too quiet for me. It's even quieter than it was N/A.

Going from a 2.25- 2.5 or 3" exhaust won't make a huge difference how loud the exhaust is. Do you have a resonator or cat?

I am very interested in this as well. I have a 2.5" downpipe (open) right now. I have a 2.25" exhaust already (not installed). I had planned on a 3" but I am being told it's not necessary for my hp goals (275 whp). Should I just go ahead and get a new 2.5"???

I wouldn't want to use a 2.25" piping for 275whp.
