Exhaust Question
I don't have any sort of exhaust for my Civic right now except for a 3" downpipe. Its a D16Y8 turbo'ed and I'm looking to put down over 300 at the wheels. I'll be driving it on the street quite a bit, and taking it to the track for a lot of drag racing.
I also heard that New York is passing tougher emissions (or at least enforcing them now). Every car will have to be hooked up, tested and then registered with the state. I read somewhere that larger catalytic convertors (like 3") have trouble heating up sometimes and it causes people to fail. Because of that, I was thinking of going with a 2.5" exhaust from the downpipe back with a 3" electric cutout in the downpipe. What is everyones suggestion? Should I just run a full 3" exhaust or go with the cutout?

Its not the noise that I'm worried about, its passing emissions. I was thinking also with the AEM EMS I could get a map that ran fairly lean just for emissions testing, and just open the wastegate. Anybody else have advice?
