I know that I have an exhaust leak somewhere because my car is way to loud compared to a couple weeks ago, it is the last thing I am trying to work out, now that I have good AFR numbers..

my question is does an exhaust leak effect performance that much if it is after the turbo? I would assume so because it feels like I have lost a little bit of low end power from 1500-3000..the car also seemed to launch much harder when it went in to boost..

I understand that there is going to be a delay because of spool time and the fact that I have a d16 but I donot have a big turbo it is only a t3/t4 with .48 exhaust.

One thing is that my AFR numbers are very good the. 12.7 is as lean and 11.9 is as rich as I have gone..

 

i would say yes, because it has happened to me. i couldnt figure out why i spooled so late and also why it was kinda hard to hold 10psi on a small turbo. once i figure out that a 2 bolts backed out of the exhaust sid eof my turbo, i put in new ones and the car ran like it did when i first assembled it.

 

I will have to check my bolts on my turbo too, I did notice that I can smell some exhaust fumes when I pop my hood.. a little more than I would expect to smell..but I am pretty sure that it is coming from somewhere past my downpipe
