the great thing about boosted cars is the fact that the turbo is in the way of the exhaust flow.....yes maybe at lower rpm before you are boosting it might be deep and throaty, but once boost is created you not going to hear much of loud just a nice tone......

the reason for this is the exhaust turbine blade is in the way fo the exhaust gasses and when the exhaust pulse comes out of the head it hits the turbine then flows out the exhaust basically transfering most of the power from the exhaust gasses to the turbo, thus making it spool.

also thus calming down the exhaust noise.....

but there can be othere factors, external waste gate dump tubes, boost levels...all that can determine the sound and level of sound generated by and exhaust...

but my choise on my turbo civic is goin to be 3" all the way downpipe and exhaust

in a boosted car bigger is always better....(well depending...on 4 cyl, dont get past 3" unless you are creating crazy boost)

I am going to be building myself a 3" custom exhaust to a nice low profile muffler.

My car is "realativley" quiet considering I have a 2.5" DP, no cat, no resonators, just 3" catback piping to a 3" muffler. It's alot deeper than my previous stock piping, but not alot louder really.

Yeah, 3" on a turbo Honda/Acura is the way to go. Not only will it spool quicker, but your top end power will be much stronger.

no you dont HAVE to custom make one, but its alot cheaper.
thermal makes a 3'' catback. I have a 2.75'' Blitz catback, but good luck finding one of those.

3'' is what you want.
