Default Exhaust

Called the local muffler shop today to see if he could fabricate a 3in exhaust and DP. He said he could but he advised against it due to the piping being too big that it would bottom out on bumps n shiz. He also said he would not recomend it on my 4 cyl due to extreme loss of low end power and torque. "There would be no back pressure!" This was even after i explained my car had a turbo and was flowing 9 psi of air. He seemed to be pretty knowledgeable. He recomends a 2.5in exhuast system for my car. What do you thinK?
