engine temps
Yo fella's.
After rebuilding my D16Z I am still having some high engine temps. I have a mechanical temp gauge installed directly after the head. The gauge reads around 90 deg cel, and upwarp if I juice it. The regular temp gauge stayes fine, untill I'm on the gas for a bit.
My timing is aroun 10 deg, I have an aftermarket intank pump with a vortech fmu.
So why so hot I'm wondering? Maybe I need to increase the heat range of my plugs? I was using NGK BCPR6E, I just swapped them out for the stock ZFR5J-11 plugs, but have not started the car since doing that.
Maybe I just need some heat wrap? Maybe my coolant lines from the turbo are too close to the manifold.
Also I have a small leak in my exhaust manifold and another small leak in from my down pipe gasket. I also have some stutering at low rpms, around 1-4k if I get on the gas. Could my O2 sensor be doing this? I am not getting any check engine lights though. I may also need to change my plug wires though.
Over heating is not cool, you guy's got any suggestions or comments?
