Electoromotive Tec3 is the best engine management for a street car, imo of course.

Electromotive stuff is top notch. My buddy has it in his GN, and i'm thinking of using it in my mustang.

Me and my friend tried to tune a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS boosting around 22 PSI and it was hell, if you have someone that can teaches you how to use it and have experience it will be awesome.
You will have lots of control on your engine, but only if you really learn how to use it

BTW this was on a TEC2, i been told there is not a big difference.
I imagine LOTS of dyno tunning

i couldn't compare the tec 2 with the AEM or hondata or any of those cuz i don't have experience with them, but the Tec 2 was crazy! it will spark the spark plug twice so you will get cleaner burns as well as a lil more power (think small)
It had many variables to configure, and if you learned how to tune it, you basicly will know how to tune the rest of the ECU on the market, i think.
It is an awesome setup and it is worthy only if you can get someone to teach you how to tune it, or expect LOTS of reading.

you have to buy the ECU, harness, coils, magnet&wheel separately.

They don't make the tec2 anymore...

I would like to try the tec3, I talked to an electromotive dealer and he said the new units are cake to tune

I also talked to them at Sema in Vegas and Sema in Long Beach. Everytime I talk to them about Tec3 i'm in aww.

I just can't afford it.

As soon as my engine gets built. Tec3 will be the following modification.

Don't you have to use some crazy gear looking thing on your crank pulley with the Electromotive units? How does it pick up the timing being distibutorless? I've never seen one actually set-up that's why I'm asking. I was interested in trying the tec3 unit, but I've never seen one on a car. I just need a box to do my timing and ignition for now, but I will need one for fueling also when I pull my ECU off.

It uses a Crank Trigger. That's how it knows the timing.

It's more accurate then a distributor.

it depends on the engine, but the scooby i worked with didn't have it, but i didn't saw one good reason for not having it, i guess in a honda engine there would be no porblem, but you might would need to modify something, perhaps the AC compressor bracket or something like that.
It's an awesome setup, and i don't have experience with others, but i think this is the one that will make more HP if compared to others.
I think, if you spend lots of time tunning it, that this would be the closest to stock reliability wise.

ok to answer a few questions, first you can use ac if you want.second you can have your stock pulley machined by them if you want.you just have to ask.
