EK4 Sir > Supercharged
Dear Honda ppl,
I currently have a JDM Honda Civic Ek4 AUTOMATIC Sir. However where i live it is extremely costly to do a conversion from auto to manual. My question is Can i supercharge my sir with the auto tranny? I would be using a jackson racing supercharger.
Would the auto tranny be able to hold such power or would the tranny give way and break?.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: EK4 Sir > Supercharged (gras)
I'm assuming its essentially a B16? If you don't do many other mods, it won't make enough power to really degrade that tranny. You'll want to add an additional transmission cooler just in case, as well as change the tranny fluid a bit more often. Heat is the real enemy to an auto tranny, next to low fluid and extremly high amounts of power. A b16 with I/H/E and an unmodified JRSC kit won't make extremely high amounts of power.
I do know one of the first SOHC turbo kits a MFG worked on for Civics was on an automatic. If that can take over 220BHP (crank), then a b-series trans should be able to take it. It just may not like the instant power
