what about in the collector? No good? Probably too far away to tune timing correctly eh?

it needs to be placed from the head 1.5 times the diamiter of the exaust port. (i.e. very f'in close) the # 3 and #2 would be ideal, however #1 or 4 would work ok too.

Picture this: You have a burning candle and you want to find out the temperture at which its burning. To get an accurate measurement, would you hold your measuring device at the tip of the candle, a few inches above the flame, or around the blue part of the flame...

the point is, you want to get as close to the souce of the flame which is right after the exhuast gasses leave the cylinder. On Honda's cylinder 3 appears to be the hottest, so use that as your measuring source...

If you are standing in front of your car and looking down into the engine, then the far left (passenger side) is 4 and so on 3, 2, 1. 1 being on the far right (driver's side)

Does anyone have a picture of an autometer EGT probe welded in to a manifold? I need to make sure the part I have for the bung is the correct part. Thanks!
