Default EGT guage going crazy!!!

I can't think of anywhere else to post this and I figured that since probably everyone with an EGT guage has a turbo that this would be the place to go. Every time I drive over a bump in the road my EGT guage needle jumps up and the warning light flashes showing me where the warning is set at. It's not that the temps. are going up, just that the needle keeps jumping around. I have a GReddy 60mm guage with peak and hold and warning feature. I checked all the wires to make sure everything is connected and nothing is pinched. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Mabye the queen needs more padding in her seat to cushion the bumps..JK

It has to be an electrical problem.

My EDFC backlight stopped working too . I think I just have too much electronic crap in my car. I need to just do what Allen does, a boost guage and that's it .

Less stuff less places to search for a problem but i thikn EGT gauges come in handy
but most likely it's a electrical problem though.

it's 100% a ground problem

took me a while to find this on serveral cars.

check the block grounds.

it may not be a ground problem, but it is likely to be that or just a bad connection somewhere. always solder connections!

I checked all the connections twice and couldn't find any bad connections or loose wires. I wonder if the guage itself is just bad? I can tap the side of where the guage is mounted and the needle will do the same thing.

if you take the gauge out of the manifold and let it hang in the air does it do the same thing. if it works correctly it's ground problem. not a ground problem with the wires on the gauge. the main car ground problem

the probe grounds itself through the manifold.

if it's still erratic, then try another gauge.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I talked to a guy at GReddy and he said I could send the guage to them and they could take a look at it. He said it takes a week though . Hopefully I can fix it myself.
