EG Turbo Build
Let me start off by saying this was my first real turbo build. I have been learning lots along the way and would appreciate the negative comments to yourself. If you have some constructive criticism I can appreciate that.
Alright lets begin
First to start out I purchased this 1995 civic for the most part already built.
Honestly I purchased this car for the shell/interior, exterior mods. The person who built this car did an amazing job with it. The only part I was not satisfied with was the motor/turbo set up.
Previous set up
JDM b18c Motor
Eagle rods
CP 9:1 pistons
Sunk2 valve train
Peakboost turbo kit
This motor made 320ish horse.
I started to pull the motor to get ready for the new heart
The first purchase was a new block
B20b
Darton sleeved 84.5mm
cp 10:1 compression
eagle rods
balanced to 12000rpms
I already picked out my turbo which I had from a previous build (precision 6262 dual ball bearing turbo). This turbo would mount to the original peakboost kit and would be the only upgrade that I would make…………… or so I thought….
The next purchase was some DSS 5.9 axles from a local member on this club.
about a week later ordered a new fuel system
This Consisted of dual inline bosch 044 fuel pumps, ID1000cc injectors, -10an feed and -8an return. The plan was to sump my stock fuel tank.
After some research I decided to upgrade my fuel tank to an FCS 9 gallon fuel cell.
I then came across a great deal on some ID2000 injectors. I quickly scooped them up and sold the ID1000's. To finish off the fuel system I ordered a dual bosch pump mounting bracket and a fuel filter mounting bracket. I also have a spare aem fuel rail with aem fuel pressure regulator to use.(may upgrade).
After some time passed the next item on the list was a new rad, rad fan and rad hoses. Went with a Koyo rad, and mishimoto fan/hoses.
I then wanted to run a breather box for both my valve cover and block. I found a guy on Honda -tech selling a set up so I scooped it up.
As time went on I became hung up on getting a full race manifold. I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchased a Full race top mount T04 twin scroll manifold with black heat coating. The only downside was the precision 6262 did not have the option for a T04 divided housing.

Re: EG Turbo Build
So I opted to sell the 6262 and picked a custom built Garrett dual ball bearing GT42r with a 76mm billet wheel…
Seeing as i went with the new manifold the current Tial 38mm wastegate would not do. I picked up 2 tial 44mm wastegates.
Then of course I started crunching numbers of what I wanted my power goals to be and I felt that the current motor would not hold the power levels I wanted.
So with that I went with a new block/head.
Ls block
KMS high flow oil pump
Acl race bearings
Eagle crank
Full arp studs
Bc 625+ rods
85mm JE 10.5:1 pistons
Darton sleeves
Ls/vtec conversion
Head
Ported/Polished B16 Head
Ferrea oversized valves
Ferrea dual valve springs
Bc stage 2 turbo cams
Adjustable cam gears
Gates Kevlar timing belt
Type r water pump
Morosso 5qt tapped oil pan
The plan is to have this car on the road by July 15th 2013.
The last few Items I need to purchase are
New Tranny
Clutch
3" intercooler piping
Few more fittings
and few more things

Re: EG Turbo Build
Ya I said screw using water... Going Sprite cooled.. I don't want to throw any numbers out as I may dissapoint myself and be made a food of by others. I am hoping to order all my tuck parts fairly soon then take the car into the body shop to have the bay completed... I should have taken more picks of the car going through its changes but I waited way to long then decided to do a build thread.
I also believe its one thing to show all the parts you have.. but another to actually get them on the car. I hope to have this car done by July 30th now... Baby on the way in the next couple of weeks will slow this down greatly..

That's respectable tho, either way this is a nice build and I'm pumped to see it finish up! I am still a bit out from tuning, but my setup is a little more basic then yours lol.
You need to throw the baby recaro seat on the list yet tho, blue or pink?
Congrats sir!

Oh god, never in my life have I let a woman control what I do BUT I've never been married and don't have kids so what do I know.
Anyways, I want to see how that fuel cell mounts up, I haven't seen one of those installed yet.

So I let the M3 go..
Great choice
And most definitely take pics through the rest of the assembly. By the looks of your parts stash, this is going to be a monster lol

Re: EG Turbo Build
I'm planning on doing my EG too if I ever get through with body and paint. I like what Californiadad did in his use of the AEM water/methanol system. Their predetination fail-safe system is pretty effective from several viewpoints and worth checking-out if you haven't already.

Re: EG Turbo Build
It's a gorgeous EG. Mine's still just a rolling chassis receiving suspension, break and steering parts at this point before I address all of the body and paint issues. Believe it or not, it's trip back to restoration/race, from where I bought it new in 92 and after receiving all of the battle damage over the years, is starting at a much better place than the EJ did. I'm close to the first number on my that sub-project and ought to come-in just under it on that on the completion of paint. It's never been as straight as it is now. One thing at a time for this simple man.

Re: EG Turbo Build
UPDATE:
This project may be taking a little longer then anticipated. The person I had bought the motor from failed at shipping it correctly and the motor never made it to my house. I was at 40 days since purchasing the motor and still have not received it. Nor will I unless I wanted to anti up another $800+. The seller offered me a refund but then later told me he was unable to do so. I have since put in a claim with paypal and am currently out thousands of dollars.. ugh...

Re: EG Turbo Build
Yes, I sold the b20 a month or so ago.. It wasn't what I was after. I have decided if I cannot get this issue with the current motor sorted out I am done with Hondamarketplace... just in the last 8 months I have been ripped off 5 times. I know everyone says do your research, and I look into a person as much as I possibly can, but still get fucked.
