Earl(Bensons) vs Dart
I am just trying to get a feel for what all the ht members prefer as far as a full build ?I am currently finishing up on gathering my parts for my build and presently going to send my block to earl for some pauters and cps with a sleeve job.I also was quoted 3000 bucks on a dart block with eagles and wisecos with an eagle crank assembled but like I said before I am going to send my block to earl /bensons simply for the reason of customer service and not to mention that all of his blocks are impecable .I just would like to hear everyones opinions and pros and cons to both? Thanks

WHERE did you get quoted 3000 for an assembled dart block with wiseco's and eagle's, AND an eagle crank? Considering those blocks alone usually run 2200 bucks, that is a stupid price!

I think you guys are overlooking the fact that 3000 for a dart block assembled with an eagle crank is a rediculous deal. He could have a tall deck block and a 2.2L stroker for the same price as getting his stock block build up.

I'd still stay with the Benson's setup. I'm not sold on the Dart setup. Just my opinion.

Can I ask why not? The only thing that held me back from a dart block was the cost, and the fact that i'd need to basically take everything off my old motor, rendering it basically worthless if I tried to resell it. If he doesn't have to worry about either of those, why not? Dart makes proven ****, their blocks are in tons of 6, and 7 second race cars.

1. pauter/cp over eagle/wiseco
2. Bensons does top notch work, I don't know much about Race Engineering.
3.Earl's customer service
4. I don't particularly like the tall deck option on boosted apps.
5. Bensons are also Honda proven race engines.
This is not meant to be a knock against Race Engineering, I'm just not familiar with their work.

Dont start jumping on the bandwagon. Either is good. Flip the Coin.

Re: Earl(Bensons) vs Dart (synik)
I am not jumping on the bandwagon .There are a lot of people on ht who ACTUALLY have personally used these products and that is whom this thread is directed to .I personally dont have experience with either or and am just doing a little research but most of the posts I read are "I know this guy" or "I have a friend who" which supports your whole bandwagon point.I read many posts on here trying to gather info from members who have had success with thier setups and I am using that info to make my final decision.

True, race engineering customer service is not the best, and they do **** up on sending the right parts to people

I recommend from expirence as well. I've been involved with SBC/SBF dart block powered race cars for some time now, and if those stay together, I'll be damned to not recommend a Dart block for Honda applications.
