Default Eagle Rods vs Crower Rods?? Which are better?

I am now hearing that Eagle sells strong rods like Crower which run around $500 is that true. I know that Golden Eagle sells eagle rods.

Reason I am asking this is because my block has been decked out by them and sleeved and I am ready to buy my rods.

GE already has the Eagle rods out and they are makng the crower ones.

Who has broken a Eagle rod?

Engine will be seeing over 23+ of boost?

Any up's and down's.

Sav and Jen williams broke some. Do I like them, yes. I dont plan on making 600+whp, so they will work. I think around 700whp they start to flake.

Manley makes some good strong rods:

Why go with something that is just good enough. You will always have that in the back of your mind when you are pushing the motor. Spend a little extra and get a proven rod like crower. Remember, a broken rod will cost you ALOT of money in the long run. New block, head, pistons, rods, crank, etc. Isn't worth a couple hundred extra bucks?

First of all, if you setup is done right you will make well over 300whp at 15psi. Second, Eagle and Golden Eagle are two entirely different companies. Golden Eagle sells eagle rods but they aren't the same company. However, you should contact Golden Eagle about getting your block sleeved.

HEy Tony1. Are Darton sleeves know to sith stand up to 18 lbs on a 350+ hp set up? It seems as though when u go Darton u r cutting corners and just trying to savemoney. Is that so?

Golden Eagle and Darton are both excellent, very high quality sleeves. I personally am going to be having Viren do my block for me after i pick it up at osaka in late january. I'll be going with Golden Eagle sleeves, but like i said both GE and Darton are very very very fine companies for sleeving.

Darton sleeves are as good as any. I believe they have a cheap version too, but again, if you're gonna spend that much money already you might as well get the good ones. What it really comes down to with darton is the installer. Golden Eagle only sells their sleeves with installation so you know they will be installed right. When you buy darton sleeves you are relying on the machine shop who installs them. I have had a few problems with local machine shops doing bad installation on sleeves and I won't let it happen again. So, my recommendation, use a reputable machine shop and get whichever sleeves you choose. Golden Eagle, AEBS, and RS Motorworks are the top choices in my opinion and you shouldn't have any problems with any of them.
