Default E85 Any information on properties & setup?

I have seen a few stations locally that are carrying E85.
I'm currently running C120 - (113 octane) race gas in a fully built 10:1 comp., H22 hatch. I use 10 psi and 17 psi boost settings.
Any idea what octane level E85 would compare to? What AFR should I use at the boost levels I'm using?
It would be a lot cheaper than race gas and would probably be cleaner and cooler if it would work.

New tune, prolly a new fuel pump because u have too supply about twice as much E85 compared to staight gasoline in terms of air-fuel ratios. You need to make sure you fuel lines can handle E85. Theres alot of other things. Im just a noob when it comes to E85

factory fuel lines can be used with E85. E85= 85% Ethanol, 15% gasoline.

the gasoline is used for its petrolium properties and lubrication factors.

There's a good Power point presentation about e85 here:

also to keep people from drinking it ha.

I was looking into this a while back because of how much i love ethanol. I believe stoich was around 9.8:1? somewhere in that area, so its not quite double the amount but close.

How much do you pay per gallon for the fuel you run now, i'm running a similar setup to you, and was getting away with 110 leaded @ around 5 bucks a gallon, which was about the same cost as running e85 because of the more fuel used and other upgrades needed (bigger injectors, pump etc..) although you might already have an adequate fuel system so it might be worth it for you

Ethanol is corrosion to aluminum and rubber, stock fuel line are aluminum i believe and all the gasket are rubber so it not too safe.

which, like jeff said, is why they add 15% gasoline.

Personally when i heard about that, it orginally scared me away from alcohol, but after talking to a few people, one in particular it doesn't bother me much anymore.

This guy runs an all aluminum 500ci blown hemi in a pulling truck (sorry for the non direct example). 100% ethanol through a mechanical injection setup. In the years that hes been running this setup, hes never once had an issue, aside from rubber lines/o-rings. The heads, IM, pistons etc show no acclerated wear

Methanol is the one that really corrodes aluminum! They load Ethanol into aluminum tankers to transport to the terminals.
