e cut a good solution...???
as some of you know i been debating whether to get a thermal r&d or contruct my own exahaust using and oem muffler ie, rsx, is300 or type r.
I now have another idea.. which has been used a lot. Using the ecut out syster and bolting a 2.5 inch exhaust for regular driving.
Are these e-cut outs effetive? does the flap part stay closed? I've read some feedback on it.. but just wondering what you guys think...
Thermal or ecut?
thanks

Get the manual cutout, its liek 30 bucks, and if u find that you open it alot and get to lazy, the electric uprade is like another 200 or so. I have a 2.5" dp and cutout, and 2.25 all the way back, no cat, no muffler, just a resonator, and it sounds good. Opening the cutout doesnt sound bad either, and makes for madd torque gains.
i would get a 2.5" exhaust and a manual cutout. my ecutout seems like i need to tweak with it on a weekly basis. it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt have a stock exhaust.
with the 2.5 you will still make some power and whatnot, but you will still be able to open it up to open dp for tracking or racing

i hear ya.... it sounds like a good solution to me.
I read somewhere else about a dual wategate set up... kinda like opent dump tube..
seen ppl run stock exahust on it and then when you hit boost... just open from the down pipe
