Icon2 Dual VTEC?

So might be trading my car for a boosted D15b and it has the dual vtec the owner says. Is this the same as the 3 stage vtec for fuel economy? And is this bad for boost? Hard to tune or anything like that? thanks guys

and you must suck at searching... its not what you think it is... its mostly for fuel economy and emissions and still works on the intake valves only

Sorry yall I did search I promise lol. This could be my first single Cam. I've been researching and from what I've found stock d15b don't hold boost well. Anybody know otherwise? Has stop headdress and cometic gasket

I think nowadays "searching" means; I've read some stuff but I have absolutely no clue what I'm reading.

So lemme understand this, you don't even have the car yet?

No I don't going to look at it this weekend but I've only dealt with b series and I looked people say the rods are very thin on d series and he has it on 10psi making 220 whp. All IM wondering is if this is safe on the stock motor?

So is there any difference with the d15b at all? Because the rods are supposedly thinner?

boost doesnt matter, the HP/load is what will make it break

99.9% of stock d-series motors dont like making over 220-225whp.... after that the rods flex and motors do some dramatic forms of breaking.

Any ems tuning system you use will not have the capability to support the twin vtec solenoids.. and twin vtec maps... (IIRC)

so the vtec-e feature would be pointless anyways.

Eg6 you have no idea what you are talking about.. You need to read ALOT!

220 to 250 is max for stock rods on a d series but d series is a cheap motor to build for boost. Vitara and custom rods are like 400 and good to well into the 600 range. I would get the car, pull the d15 and sell, buy and build a Z6 and swap in..
