DSM Injectors
I'm building up my z6 for turbo and am plannin on runnin dsm injectors. Does it matter if I use the 1g or 2g? I know the manual ones flow better but just wondering if the generation matters. Thanks in advance.

Re: DSM Injectors (ImportHatch)
Make sure you get the turbo ones, they are 450cc.
As for generation, get as new as you can. Age is a factor for injector failure.
Other than that, they are all the same.

Re: DSM Injectors (RGAZ)
I got mine from a G1 eclipse then I sent them out to RC engineering. Anyhow, when they came back they look brand new and flow better than 450cc. Contact http://www.rceng.com
I payed $50 for injectors(used)
and $107 shipped for 2day air. Not bad for $157 and 450cc injectors.

Since you have a z6, i'm guess your car is obd1. In that case, get the 2g ones.
1] because they were newer like was said, and
2] because your injector plugs will clip right on.
Its really not that hard to modify the plugs if you get the older ones though.
If it was me i'd grab either that was available.

Re: DSM Injectors (ImportHatch)
speaking of dsmtrader...I just got some 290cc's off of there and the plastic around the tip of the injector is cracked on some of them (sent in padded envelope!) I'm thinkin I can just put some epoxy VERY CAREFULLY on the sides and polish it down to it's original dimensions and it should be alright...any thoughts or how much it would cost to get that fixed? they only cost me $5 a pop.

I might be wrong, but i've heard you can buy the just the injector caps at the dealer. If not, your idea will probably work fine. Just make sure its gonna hold. But even if it didnt, a little plastic hopefully wont do any real damage.

Re: DSM Injectors (RioNinja)
So, I also checked the resistance on the injectors and their all 14.5-14.6 ohms, abouts...BUT, my haynes(crap) manual says that the stock ones should be 10-13 (example shows 12.5) ohms...will this be a problem? will I have to put a resistor in parallel? I know you have to do some crap for new injectors in old cars, but these should be old-style too...

My RC440's were all 10 ohms.
My DSM 450's were all about 2 ohms. I had to install a resistor pack to run them in my car.

You're fine, man. Don't worry. I've used injectors has high as 16 ohms. Those were the RC Injectors. It was the 5G Prelude injectors that were 10 ohms when I checked them.

Re: DSM Injectors (Sonnyballs)
here's another...I just got back from the dealer (bought new injector seals so I can bore out the ones I've got and if I mess it up have a backup...or if the 'new' injectors don't work) anyway, I thought I was getting the hard plastic piece that fits around the tip of the injector(top left and on DSM injector on left), but got these rubber pieces(top right) that go around the metal part...my main question is "Do I need the smaller plastic part on the left, because I only have three!I don't think I really do, but thought I'd ask before I took out my injectors for no reason.
