DSM 450 Injector Trouble
Okay I installed some DSM 450....
I have a 1993 Civic Ex and I installed the injectors on the swapped b16a3.
I followed Hondata's wiring tech....
I used uberdata to alter a stock P30 map for 450cc injectors....now...when I start the car up it gives me a solid CEL when I try to pull the code, and it doesn't want to rev above 6000 rpm or so..
I cranked the car and went and looked at my fuel pressure gauge and it just falls from 40 down to 0 in about 2-3 seconds. I listened to each injector and it sounds like each one is working and ticking away when it's running.
What could be the problem? Fuel pressure while running stays at 42 psi...but unless the car is started it instantly loses pressure?
I plugged a JDM P30 in just to see if it would give me a different code and it gave me code 14...that's a bad IACV right? The engine threw no codes before I installed the injectors..I think the IACV is ok. I don't think it's clogged because I checked it about 2 months ago and it was clean.

Hmmm....

You could figure this one out just by listening to each injector individually... if they are all ticking like they should then they are all opening and closing... right?
I would check for leaks... when I first installed mine one of them was leading internally and filled up the clip socket with gas... a lot of times these DSMs are old and worn out..
I would check each one individually, make sure they are opening and closing like they should and not leaking internally or externally... that's all I can think of for now...

Re: (EJ1 wilcox)
I did the listening thing...I'll try it again.
It's a bit hard because there's so much noise, not to mention the fact that it's hard to listen to just 1 of the injectors.

Get a long flathead screwdriver and use it as a stethoscope. Put the flat part against the injector and put your ear against the screwdriver handle.

NP, just dont stick the screwdriver into your ear the wrong way, hehehe.
Let us know what you hear...if your injectors are working fine you should be able to hear the mechanical ticking sound of the injectors rapidly opening and closing.

Re: (EJ1 wilcox)
Screwdriver trick showed that all injectors were opening and closing.
I just got some cleaned and balanced DSM 450s and some resistors so maybe I'll try wiring them the other way and see if it works.

What do you mean "wiring them the other way"? How did you wire them?
