I am hearing different answers on where a Drag III turbo will stop making power. I was told by a local turbo shop that the turbo that comes with the Drag III can go as high as 23 or so psi. Now a friend of mine say's maybe so although he heard even if it does go to 23psi that it will not make anymore power after 17psi. To people who have Drag III turbo's that came with the kit, how high have you gone in boost? Do you believe that after 17 psi it will not make any power?

if your gonna run over 20psi
dont buy a kit period.
get everything custom, it will be faster and will save you money because your gonna need to upgrade about half the kit.

 

Damn right... Kit sucks! I think those turbo's can only push out about 350whp give or take a few. You will need atleast a T04E to make 450+ whp. and I believe urs came with a T04B. Its not how much PSI can u push out with ur kit, its how much can push out (whp) with ur turbo. anyways, thats just my thoughts on this subject. Peace out.

drag kits do not suck, you can always upgrade the turbo when you buy them though. the kits are sold with the intention to just bolt on and boost, if you only boost 8psi there is no reason to throw on a t04e bb turbo on it. let me know if you need a kit, i get good deals on them.

 

GEE thank's for the info Dandee. I'm still wondering how much psi the Drag turbo can make power up to? Also I have the kit on my car.

nobody ever said they suck
but if your running 20+psi your gonna need upgraded wastegate, a completley diffrent fuel system, a bigger interooler (not necessary but helps) etc etc etc

the money could be better spent if you piece together your own kit.

im pretty sure he meant for big horsepower.
the drag kit is awesome but not for 400+hp
too much stuff to get upgraded.

 

Don't worry about Dandee (JisatsuRacer) everone.....he's just trying to HATE! Anyway's I've had the Drag kit for a while now. What I really want to know is what psi does the turbo that comes with the kit stop making power? Anyone know?
Also, why do so many people dislike deltagates? I have gone up to 14 psi with no problem from it. You see all these 1000hp mustangs and cameros using them with no problem?
