Icon5 DPFI turbo?

I know I should convert to MPFI, but I thought it would be cool to turbo a stock D15b2 just to see what it would be like.

Is there any way to run DPFI on an obd1 ecu?
How much boost would be considered "safe" for stock ecu?

The car was $500 so I really don't care if it blows up, I will just put something better in if or when it does.

I would consider 110ish hp a success. I'm not trying to be fast, just different.

There is no OBD-1 ECU that utilizes dual point fuel injection... so you will not be able to run the DPFI induction system effectively. The only way would be to find an old auxiliary fuel injector controller and an appropriate fuel injector plate, plum it to your fuel system, and program the additional injectors to come on once boost pressure is reached. This way, you can run your stock ECU and only add fuel when needed for boost. You would also need some type of ignition timing retard, so a boost retard box would need to be sourced. I understand being "different"... however, the complexity and cost of what you need to safely run a turbo on DPFI is much greater than converting to MPFI and OBD-1. Being different costs money... is that the primary goal ?

Could try a water/methanol injection kit for your additional fueling as well. For low levels of boost you likely wouldn't need any timing retard with that either.
