Downsides to running a single scroll turbo on a dual scroll manifold
Full-race only makes dual scroll top mount manifolds. I was gonna mate a precision 6262 with it and the turbo only comes in a single scroll. What would be some of the downsides to running as single scroll turbo on a dual scroll manifold?
shouldnt be any problem really, its still going to operate the same way. I just picked up a twin manifold but im still running a non divided turbo. Its in the plans for down the road.
It should be the same, the benefit is that you can now control the boost better

Well when i talked to the rep from Full-race, he said the turbo would be less efficient, can anybody elaborate on that?
No. not really. The rep is looking at the fact that the divided housing on the manifold will divide the exhaust gases evenly, when it really won't. If you're really that skiddish, I hate to say this, but get a top-mount manifold from another company like Go-Autowerks or AFI.
I mean, Full-Race is nice and all, but why not just get the manifold where everything can match up nicely instead of continually trying to justify the use of THAT particular manifold?

The turbo is less efficient than one with a divided housing, but the divided manifold/undivided turbo is no less efficient than an undivided manifold/turbo. Does that make sense?

agreed. There may be a difference in cylinder scavaging (which has much less of a effect on a turbo car compared to an NA or blower to the best of my knowledge) bc there are 2 "2 way" merge collectors and not a single "4 way" merge collector. The difference is probably to small to even notice. It may even help. who knows. That is the only difference I can see. Just thinking out loud.
