downpipe wraping thing
I'm going to guess and assume the red x stands for typical exhaust wrap, which is some kind of fiberglass composite. Please, don't rub it on your genitals.

Don't even joke about fiberglass. When we were renovating our commercial building I had the smart idea to take a nap on some fiberglass insulation because if was soft. Believe you me, it was the worse three days ever.

i noticed wrapping my downpipe lowered my underhood temps a bit. doesnt hurt anyways.

i have wrapped alot of things as far as exhaust and what i have noticed is that exhaust wrap will trap moisture and cause your piping to rust prematurely, like DC headers, regular steel downpipes and such, plus you wont notice it cause you wont be able to see it
