Default Downpipe question...

I'm running a 3" downpipe with a 2.5" flange. The meaning that there is a lip from the flange that sits inside the downpipe. Should I bore out the lips to make them 3"? Or will I be fine?

Assuming you are talking about the turbo outlet flange. Just match it to the turbo exhaust outlet size. Most t3/t4 are 2.5 anyways.

Not sure what you didn't understand, I'll try and explain it better. But I have a T3 Downpipe flange that has an outlet cut out for a 2.5" piping, all I have is 3" piping and I welded it to the flange. This is leaving a .5" lip all the way around between the downpipe and the flange. Im just curious if I'll have any issues out of it, such as maybe turbulence or anything like that? And if so should I bore out the flange the extra .5" to make it 3" all the way around? Any info would be great..

Run a 2.5-3" flare. As long as the OD of the flange flange matches the OD of the turbine exhaust you're fine.

Its a small T3 .42/.48 ar. Its exhaust wheel/outlet is only 2" and the flange is 2.5".. The turbo normally runs an internal wastegate in which I eliminated and bought the plate that blocks it off and now running a Tial External....

I guess I need to make a new downpipe? Its only going on a D16 on 7psi... I

I would run it. Its bigger than the outlet so its not like your creating a bottleneck anywhere.

You should be fine. Not recommand it unless your turbine hole is 3 inch and your discharge flange is 2.5 inch. Then I would worry about it.
