Is this downpipe flange normal?
OK so I got my downpipe in today and right away I notice something. OK look at my turbo.

Notice there are two holes there. It's my understanding that side hole (forget the name of it) allows for extra air to flow around the turbine for better low rpm running before going into boost and while in full boost it allows for max HP by allowing extra air flow. I may not entirely understand its function yet but I'm certain it's there for a reason or they wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of machining it in there.
However look at my downpipe flange. It just straight up covers the hole. What gives?

that is the conventional way that you will find a 5 bolt downpipe made. that second "little" hole is for a internal type wastegate if you were going to use one. if your manifold is setup for a external wastegate then you are good to go.
Ah good to hear man. Shoot I was trying to think of ways to cut a hole in my flange and bleed it into the main downpipe etc. lol. Guess no worries then.
