Ever watch GT races on speedvision? A lot of the cars, not just turbos, have flames that come out the back. It has a lot to do with the fuel being rich, especially if they let off the throttle after doing a long run.

Tony the Tiger, on the Type R board, has a video of his NA car shooting small flames off the limiter... can't remember but think its a low 13 sec car...

Hey Art your friend, does he shoot flames from all that Tex-Mex food - or were you talking about his car?
if you have an ignition cut rev limiter all that fuel that is not being used in combustion will ignite in the exhaust, if you do this often enough fuel will collect in your cat (if you run one) and eventually explode (first hand experience with a Random Tech cat). also when you heel toe flames come out all the time because the car is not really under load.

There's an orange ford probe around here that's all fast and furioused out and he shoots flames. he has like a butane bottle hooked up to his exhaust with something to ignite it. Its pretty cheesy.

when I was a kid I used to fill the washer resevoir with javex and re - route the washer squirters to my back tires of mt 88 Mustang LX and do massive flaming smoke shows, if I dragged the burnout long enogh the rubber/javex compund left behind would burn - I waive all claims and liability against my person for those of you who wish to copy-cat on your own accord and blow up your cars by using the method described above
cheers

Ive seen this elusive yellow snow when I used to live in New England..thats some TASTEY STUFF!!
But for flames...you can also make a bung about 2 feet back from your exhaust tip, take a good cheap spark plug and have it wired to full throttle contact on your throttle body and shoot a good 1 to 2 foot flame.. it rules...

Re: do turbo hondas shoot flames? (DIRep972)
my car had no cat, I just had a 3" pipe and 3" straight through exhaust.. I never shot flames no matter waht I did, or how I tuned it... when I ran straight downpipe it did shoot fire, but that was right under my drivers seat and not really the result I was looking for

I have an 3rd gen RX-7 as my daily driver, and the rotary engines run so hot and very rich from the factory (about 10.5:1) that if you take the cats off, you are going to be shooting flames.
Very common with modified rx-7's
