Do I need to reseleeve??
Ok everyone,
I have a couple of questions.. I just sold my stock b20 turbo setup and i am building another b20 from scratch over the winter. I am going to be running a t3 60-1 on the built motor. I will be running 12-14psi on the street and about 17psi at the track on race gas. I am going with je 9.0:1CR pistons and eagle rods. I will be running bigger injectors and an intank fuel pump too. I will be running hondata 2b. How strong are b20 stock sleeves?? Can I overbore the b20 to 84.5mm without resleeving with my setup?? I am also going to be running a jdm gsr tranny with the stock honda lsd and the ls 5th gear. Is this a good setup for the tranny? Will the factory lsd hold up?
thanks

Factory lsd is no good after 300 ponies from what I`ve seen. This is just my opinion. Regarding sleeves, I`d do it while you can. Now is the time. You`ll probabaly want to do it eventually anyways. Again, my opinion, I just like to do everything all at once rather than tearing it down again later.

the lsd will hold around 400 hp maximum some times more but really not wihtout stress. The block can be bored to 84.5mm which is .20 over not a prb. I would get it sleeved though and bored to 85mm and run it that way
k...thanks.... i would resleeve but i am working on a tight budget and based on my budget, its either the sleeves or the hondata... i think the hondata would be a wiser investment... if sleeves were necessary when going 84.5mm, then i would have just delayed the project for about a month more so I could afford sleeves.... as for the gsr tranny, i can get my hands on an ls tranny for a lot cheaper and i could spend the extra money on quaiffe... thanks...
The quaiffe is only recomended to 400-450WHP on slicks.
Why are you running a t3? at least go with a t3/4 if your looking for better slips.
Go with the resleeve, i am on a similar budget but I'm waiting the extra 2 months to get the EMS because i knew in the long run i would need it, you will learn boost it very addicting.
