Default Tranny for B20 (searched)

This may have been covered but I could not locate a thread that helped.

I am wondering which tranny is best for a b20 that is going into a del sol. I was thinking that the b16 tranny may fit the best because I could get the del sol vtec linkage that was made for the car, but I am also concerned that it is geared too high for a b20.

Thanks!

I would go with a GSR tranny with LSD or an ITR tranny....friend had the GSR tranny with lsd it ran pretty good on the freeways.

the OEM GSR LSD won't work for LS tranny.I wouldn't use this tranny anyways to long unless you plan on FI.GSR is a good tranny to use not to long(LS) and not to short(SI/ITR).

Unless you have upgraded your bottom end, the B20 is not a good motor for running at high RPMs for and length of time. So if you do any decent amount of freeway driving, I would not recommend anything shorter than a 1994+ GSR transmission. I would stick with either a 1994+ GSR transmission or an LS transmission.

So I'm thinking wristpins and rods should probably go in while the motor is out, right? Will that pretty much take care of that issue?
