That would be helpful yes. It's not a must have, but it will work just fine. Do you have something to control the 3bar...such as somthing to tune with?

That part isn't needed. Just leave the stock one on the manifold and use the vacuum line.

do i really need a 3 bar MAP sensor/ 2.5 Bar MAP sensor if im only going to be running 10psi, or will stock do? If i can get by without one that would be great! im on a budget because im using the money for the tune so every little bit i save will help out.

the stock map will read up to 11psi, but any more than that wont register

schister is right, but on mine the air pressure was not right, so i switched to a 3Bar and it works fine now.

im going to be running a 10psi spring, (i think its actually rated at 10.15psi). right now im the 7psi spring (which i think is rated at 7.25psi and it hits 7.5psi on the boost gauge and on chrome) so since there is a .25 psi boost creep with the 7 psi spring i shouldnt expect too much of a boost creep with the 10psi spring. I just want it to creep past 11 and me be fuked needing a MAP sensor, but i need to save money at the same time.

if you have a good manifold, you should actually see slightly less pressure at the manifold than the wastegate spring. On my last setup, i had a SPoolin log w/ a wastegate set at .7bar (~10psi) and at the intake manifold i was seeing 9psi.

Also keep this in mind. If you run the stock map sensor, you can go as high as 11psi, but if you ever want to go over 11psi, you have to get the 3bar. At that point, you would have to completely retune; whereas, if you were to get the 3bar now, you would just have to do a partial retune in order to run higher boost. So in the end, if you spend a little now, you can save a lot more in the future....that's what happened to me

i still am running stock block so i dont want to push anymore than 300whp so i dont think i would go past 11psi. I still have stock intake manifold as well

You can just leave the stock map where it is, just use the wires from the harness to wire up your new map.

You can use the 3bar GM or the 2.5bar motorolla. Many people have used the motorolla with success. I believe it is also programmed into the crome software so that you don't have to enter any tables and whatnot. GL.

You can get the 2.5bar motorolla here............

i installed a turbo about two weeks ago in a 96 honda civic ex. the car is bone stock, when in second gear, about 2 rpm i step on it about 3rd of the gas pedal, it starts making pressure about 3 rpm and i know not to go more than five rpm because i can blow my motor.....but abot 45 hundred rpm i get the check engine ligt ....its the map sensor.....i am running stock wastegate spring>> 9 psi......xan you explain why, i think honda map sensor cant take more than 8 psi......

This is because your engine computer is not setup for positive manifold pressure.
You need the following:
1. Proper sized injectors
2. Proper sized fuel pump
3. Proper engine management (hondata, ectune, neptune, crome etc..)

The stock honda map sensor is good until around 10-11 psi. If you plan on boosting anything over 10 psi, I recommend going with an aftermarket map sensor.

Hope this helps.

I wired the 3 bar into the same lines as my OEM map sensor. I just unplugged the stock map when I was using the 3 bar for boost. Then when emissions came I just unplugged the 3 bar and plugged the oem back in and switched injectors, and ecu's. I had the AEM for fun boost and the greddy blue box for emission purposes. Pass...then switch out again for another year

Just remember you should only have one map sensor hooked up at a time or else your ECU will have conniption fits.

did you find that one out the hard way?

to the op link is dead, but you can just leave the stock map sensor in place, and tap the 3 bar pigtail into the wiring as everyone has said.

the problem with using the stock map sensor at 10psi is that you dont have much room for a boost cut. i could easily see a 10psi spring hitting 11psi on a cold day in certain conditions.
