Do I need it?
I was talking to a guy who works at Audio One (A/V, performance store) and he was trying to convince me that I don't need to tune my car with only 7 lbs of boost. He also told me I can't install a turbo kit myself because it is too much of a bitch. Is it really that hard? And with only 7 lbs do I need to tune? He also said on 7lbs I won't need any fuel upgrades. Now, I plan on upgrading the fuel and getting it all tuned eventually. Just not right now, is it ok to not tune and not upgrade the fuel?
Oh yeah it's on a H22A4.

It is so obvious he's trying to suck every pennies out of your pocket. 1st rule of the FI game is you're going to have to tun even if you're running 1psi. You will also need some sort of fuel upgrade such as injectors, pumps, em ect. Putting on a turbo kit is not that hard, it's like installing a very complicated header.

That's what I thought, he was telling me he wanted to install it for 55 an hour and it would take about 8-12 hours. Just double checking. Thanks
You can do it yourself with a socket wrench and a pair of screwdrivers. Read up more on honda-tech and you'll see it isn't hard to do. Also you have to get your car tunned. No if ands or buts about it. meaning no just slap on a turbo and go. You need some sort of fuel managment.
installing a kit is no harder than intake/header and some fuel stuff. takes a few hours.
yes you need to tune it.
If they are an Audio store, i wouldnt be taking their opinion much

I installed my turbo setup in about 10 hours and this was building a custom kit.. This included removing everything and installing all the turbo stuff, building the charge pipes, tapping and welding the oil pan and all that..

your gonnna need new injectors. and no it is not difficult at all to install a turbo kit. and he is wrong. you should get it tuned. thats the only way to have your car run like a factory turbo car.
by tuning, you could get away with a FMU, but uberdata, hondata, or vafc can work better. Read up a whole lot more before you even think about going turbo. I have been reading for over 2 years with my neon and now my civic and am JUST going turbo. Read alot, ask questions, search even more than the two above.
