Default DJ 2501's 95 LST Project

I picked up the LS Swapped 95 ex coupe for $1500 the other day. It has a fresh coat of paint (not perfect but hey) and it runs great minus some small issues.

So my plans are two stage. The first stage is to get some headstuds, and a chipped ecu and slap this turbo on the stock block running no more than 8psi. The second step will be sourcing another b18 block to build for more power.

Right now I still need some things to complete this kit and get step one going.
Arps
Chipped ECU
DSM Blue tops
Boost gauge
Wideband
Downpipe
Smaller wastegate springs
Exhaust
Oil feed and return
Manifold to turbo gaskets

Small list but it adds up quick. More to come in the coming weeks

Pics!!

Precision turbo, Genuine Type S BOV, nice.. Manifold and wastegate, I hope the gas was worth those items. But I'm sure you knew that already and have made plans for later when it goes as these are more than likely "just for now" right?

It was mainly for the turbo, intercooler, bov, and piping.

Got the front apart to prep for the front mount and piping.

Got the intercooler mounted, mani on and the turbo mocked up. I'm missing one piece of charge piping still. Then I need feed and return hooked up and a downpipe.

I'm honestly not sure about the turbo, the imprint is pretty well worn. Looks like a t3 mount. The exhaust says .63 ar and the intake side says .60. Yeah the manifold came with the kit but I don't expect it to last long. Going to replace it with a cast go-autoworks manifold if/when this cracks.

Upon looking up that turbo it does appear to be the same one only mine is the 5 bolt pattern for the downpipe. I plan on running only 5psi for now on the stock engine.

You mentioned that you're going to run it at 8lbs but that doesn't mean anything. 8lbs for me would put me at or around 330whp (just a guess), because 10lbs for me allowed me to make 345whp

I actually just ordered a 5psi wastegate spring. It's going on a stock engine with arps so I'm keeping the boost low for now.

Ah very nice. Yeah I'll be hitting up Greg for better parts once the car is back on the road with the pieces I do have. Until then I'm going to grab a cheapo downpipe

The guy I bought the kit from was running the 10psi spring on a stock ls integra and blew his ring lands. I don't know about his tune, but I'm sure that was putting to much power for the stock internals. Going to cut that in half and work from there.

I doubt 10 lbs on any "50/57/60" trim would produce over 300whp on an LS, so yes his tune was probably bad.

Yea gotta agree here. You should pick a safe horsepower goal not just go 2lbs less then where your buddy blew up. And your not even sure if he had a good tune or what turbo you have. Find a good tuner and see what he thinks. Then use whatever boost it takes to get to that goal. Generally 300 on a healthy stock ls with arps, quality parts and a good tune is fine.

Small update. Spent some time today and got the piping finished up and the bumper mounted. Ran some vacuum lines. Still waiting on the wastegate spring.

To me, even though the letters are pretty worn, looks like it says precision.
