What will happen if the distributor tooth is 180 degrees the other way? Will the car run? What will happen?

 

even with the bolt's in place the dist..... will wobble in place and cause damage, it is also hard to put it in the wrong way.

 

ya you can't really install it the wrong way because of the offset tab. You can however, install that alignment tab 180* off if you take the distributer apart. It won't run and might back fire when you crank it, not that I have made that mistake before
